Luigi Serra’s artwork represents a journey into his development as an artist and of his aesthetic sensitivity. His work is somehow influenced by the Renaissance maestros and the French realists. Profound themes like human relationships, the vanity of life and the relationship with divinity accompany his interior evolution as a Painter. In his work he experiments multiple techniques and introduces novel metaphoric approaches to the topics he portrays, obtaining surprising results. As I have followed the Artist over the years, I learned how he continuously searches for truth and immortality. With his canvases, Serra observes our reality, doubts and collective imaginary through a timeless lens, and represents these with a fine humor which is both intriguing and appealing to the observer.
